reflection on feminism
My eye catches a headline: "Are All Feminist Men Simps?"
My mind wanders through the complexities of this question. I recognize that most feminists would likely critique my perspective, potentially viewing my thoughts as a calculated attempt to gain male approval or as a sign of weakness.
Recently, I found myself in a charged conversation with a group of women. When asked to share my views, my response ignited a passionate debate. Some labeled me weak, while others went further, suggesting I was a disappointment to women.
But when I step back and examine the broader landscape, I realize something profound. This isn't about conforming to expectations or seeking validation. It's about understanding the intricate psychological landscapes of both men and women.
My worth isn't defined by adhering to a prescribed ideology. It's about genuine understanding, nuanced perspectives, and the courage to think independently. Feminism isn't a label I must wear, that without I would not be a "good" woman.
My value isn't determined by how closely I align with others' expectations, but by the depth of my empathy, the clarity of my thoughts, and my commitment to understanding.
